Fight bed bugs effectively with Nattaro Safe
With Nattaro Safe, you can effectively treat a bed bug infestation. The product is long-lasting, functional and easy to use on its own or in conjunction with other control methods. Non-toxic, Nattaro Safe is just that – safe – for use around humans and pets. Nattaro Safe works immediately, so insect pests begin to die within 24 hours. For best results, the product should be left in place for three weeks.
How Nattaro Safe works
Nattaro Safe is constructed of folded paper with an adhesive backing. Nattaro Safe’s insides are coated with a thin layer of diatomaceous earth, a natural material that damages the insect pest’s protective wax layer and shell, making them dry out and eventually die. Bed bugs are drawn to Nattaro Safe’s construction – a dark, tight paper tunnel filled with lots of places to hide.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE - APPLICATION:
Peel back some of the protective film at the end of the strip. Attach the exposed adhesive side to desired surface by applying pressure along the strip.
Remove the reminder of the protective film while applying pressure along the strip, securing it to the surface.
Open the flaps along the whole lenght of the strip, for example by using a tool handle. For best results, open the flaps to form a triangular shape, as illustrated.
Apply pressure along the strip in order to close the flaps and keep the amount of dust from the diatomaceous earth to a minimum.
Carefully remove the strip from the surface and fold it together.
Place the used strip in a sealed refuse bag and discard.
Training equipment for detection dogs
We can provide equipment for training scent detecting dogs to find bed bugs. The equipment consists of a durable 50 mm long acrylic tube with nets on both ends for free airflow. These baits can contain live, dead or no bed bugs. Everything is delivered ready for use.
The bed bugs come from our own cultivation of captured specimens, so they retain their natural behaviors as opposed to laboratory-developed strains. Delivered insects are newly fed and expected to live at least three months if they are stored in a cool place. For the best results in dog training, our recommendation is to replace the bed bug bait after about four weeks.
When a bed bug bait has died, it can be used to train dogs in the scent of dead insects, so they learn to distinguish between these scents. If needed, we can also create training tubes with scents of eggs or nymphs, as well as artificial scents of living bed bugs (tubes with the scent of living bed bugs infused on a filter paper). This artificial type of solution is useful if you will train a dog in a house or a hotel room.
We can deliver three standard variations:
Living bed bugs (5-8) in different stages
Dead bed bugs (5-8) in different stages
Variant 3 – Control bait
Note: Control bait is very important to ensure dogs do not learn to track the scent of tubes filled with filter paper. Click the button below to contact us if you have any questions or are interested in pricing information.

Training and consultancy
Nattaro Labs can take on consultancy assignments if your organisation needs to develop a sanitation routine, risk assessment, action plan, etc., for managing the presence of bed bugs or the risk of infestation.
We can even tailor training about the biology and chemical ecology of bed bugs for personnel who come in contact with bed bug problems in their daily work.
Training can be held at your business or at a suitable location in our office at Medicon Village in Lund. Contact us for more information and quotes.
